Funke Akindele, an actress and producer, has announced her upcoming movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa, set to release in December.
Everybody Loves Jenifa may not be unconnected to the comedy franchise Jenifa, which metamorphosed
into The Return of Jenifa, and a TV series, Jenifa’s Diary.
Funke Akindele, Ronke Odusanya, and Iyabo Ojo star in the supporting role of Jenifa, a village girl seeking fortune in the city. Jenifa received four nominations at the 2009 Africa Movie Academy Awards.
Funke Akindele, along with Joy Nice, Lota Chukwu, and Uzor Arukwe, starred in the TV series A Tribe Called Judah, which broke a box office record within 21 days of its release. The movie grossed N1bn and surpassed previous Nollywood films Battle on Buka Street and Omo Ghetto. The series is currently streaming on Prime Video.
