The LGAs, according to Melaye are Okene, Okehi, Ajaokuta, Adavi, and Ogori/Mangogo.

Dino Melaye, the People’s Democratic Party’s governorship candidate, urged on Saturday that the polls in the state’s five local government areas be canceled.

According to Melaye, the LGAs are Okene, Okehi, Ajaokuta, Adavi, and Ogori/Mangogo.

The contender claimed that the unit results were tainted.

Posting via his official X account, Melaye said, “INEC must cancel the election in the 5 local governments of Kogi-Central. The election in Okene, Okehi, Ajaoukuta, Adavi, and Ogori/Mangogo is a scam coordinated from the highest level of INEC.

The PUNCH previously reported that Melaye failed to appear at his voting unit in the state’s Iluafon quarters, Aiyetoro 1, Ijumu Local Government Area. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had also visited his polling stations.

Dino and the African Democratic Congress candidate, Leke Abejide, widely known as “Elder,” are the two major candidates vying for the office of governor from the Kogi West Senatorial District.

Electoral observers believe Abejide, a sitting legislator, may have an impact on Dino’s chances in the governorship election.

Dino’s home state of Kogi-West has never produced a governor since the state’s existence.
