A 38-year-old Nigerian man named Sunday Yomi Komolafe was shown to the public by the Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). He was paraded because he is suspected of damaging a transformer in Isanlu, Yagba East Local Government Area in the state.

The Kogi State Commandant of NSCDC, Ahmad Ghandi Ahmad, informed journalists that the suspect was apprehended by a local vigilante group while he was vandalizing the armored cable of the transformer that provided electricity to Amuro and seven other communities in Mopa LGA. The suspect admitted to the crime, and he will face legal action after the investigation is completed.

The commandant appealed for more cooperation from the public in providing information that can help rid the state of criminal activities.

In an interview, the suspect, Sunday Yomi Komolafe, who works as a motorcycle mechanic, asked for leniency and explained that he intended to sell the stolen materials to scavengers. He also mentioned that the 35 liters of petrol in plastic containers found with him were meant for cleaning his hands after cutting the cables.
