Distinctive Nollywood entertainers, including Joke Silva and Funke Akindele, have grieved veteran Nollywood entertainer Rachel Oniga.
Her child, Olatunji, affirmed the demise of the entertainer to The PUNCH on Saturday, saying his mom passed on Friday night around 10 pm.
“She spent last night around 10 pm. She had jungle fever and typhoid,” Olatunji revealed to The PUNCH.
A famous screen sovereign, Oniga highlighted in scores of Nollywood films — both English and Yoruba—before her downfall.
Silva shared Oniga’s image on her Instagram page with the inscription, “Sista… Incredibly dedicated partner. You need to come right when playing inverse ‘Rahel’. Rachel Oniga, very little talk however all work. Tear young lady. 64 is somewhat early. You have totally walloped me.”
Akindele, on her Instagram page, expressed, “Well, Aunty Rachel. Much obliged to you for being so acceptable to me. God knows best. Find happiness in the hereafter, mama! May the Lord award your family solace.”
Comedienne and entertainer Princess stated, “A particularly discourteous shock to catch wind of Aunty Rachel’s passing. She was so practical and entertaining. May her delicate soul find happiness in the hereafter. May God solace her family in these dim occasions.”
Entertainer, Uche Ogbodo, stated, “Find happiness in the hereafter, mom @racheloniga. May God acknowledge your spirit in paradise.
Another entertainer, Toyin Abraham, stated, “Iya Yetunde Alakada @racheloniga. Odigba ma’am. Tear ma’am. God, we will keep on lauding your Holy name since we can’t address you however eleyin dun mi ganni o (this is so excruciating to me).”
